“Excellent B&B in a great location”

Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay in November 2011. Maggie & Mike are ideal hosts and Fortitude Cottage is spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The cooked breakfast was excellent. We stayed in the Penthouse room which has its own balcony and a spiral staircase to a private roof terrace with magnificent views of the harbour and Spinnacre Tower. The room and en-suite were warm and spacious and the large bed soft and comfortable. We did not see any of the other rooms. A parking permit is supplied free of charge for the car park opposite. Gunwharf Quays is a 10 min walk away where there are numerous shops and restaurants. Portsmouths tourist attractions are within walking distance. We have already recommended Fortitude Cottage B&B to our friends and will certainly visit again ourselves in the future.

“Fantastic B&B”

Stayed at this B&B 26-28 October 2011. Mike and Maggie are extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The B&B was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The view of the Spinnaker tower at night was spectacular from our bedroom window, we could not have chosen a better location. Only about 15-20 stroll to Gunwharf Quays and Spinnaker Tower. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of it! Would not hesitate in recommending this B&B to anyone. Would definitely return again at a later date.

“LOVELY & FRIENDLY B&B”

My husband and I stayed at this clean and ideally situated B&B in July 2011. Maggie and Mike are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. The morning we left I unbenowingly left a new pair of shoes and a cardigan in our room. As I said nothing is too much trouble for this lovely couple, when I arrived back in Australia a package arrived and inside to my suprise were the shoes and cardigan. I would reccommend this B&B to anyone visiting the area.

This place truly sparkles, you have a gem here. Thanks for sharing it. Far beyond all expectations. Excellent, we will be back, if we can get booked. 5 star. Hospitality Superb! Wonderful welcome. Everything first class, lovely place to stay, felt much at home. Still the best guesthouse, out of the 140 visited in three years.
